Trading plates, or thinking about it?Own the auction platform and launch your own market
A complete platform in your name and your colours: live auctions, direct sale and sealed offers — you earn a commission on every deal that closes. No technical team: the platform runs itself.
Live in days · fully Arabic and English · works on mobile and desktop
A billion-riyal plate market, still run the old way
Auctions run on Snapchat and WhatsApp do not lack demand — they lack a system. Who bid first? Who walked away after winning? Who guarantees the buyer pays? Every one of those questions costs you a plate, a customer, or your reputation.
Today — without a platform
- Bids in the comments, in an order people dispute and nothing can prove
- The winner disappears after the hammer falls, with nothing to deter them and nothing to compensate you
- You chase transfers by hand and work out your commission on a calculator
- The buyer is afraid to pay first, and the seller is afraid to transfer first
- Your customers belong to the social platform, and leave with the first ban or algorithm change
- No record, no invoice, and no reference number to point at in a dispute
After — with your platform
- Every bid, with its time and amount, on a public ledger that cannot be edited or deleted
- No bid without a deposit actually held — and a defaulter forfeits a share of theirs
- The money moves through your platform, and your commission is deducted automatically on every deal
- Funds are held in trust until ownership transfers, so both sides can relax
- Your customers live in your own database, with accounts, wallets and balances
- A reference number and a tax invoice for every transaction
And the difference is not only order. A bidder who trusts that their money is safe bids higher. Escrow is not merely a safety feature — it is what lifts the price of the plate, and your commission with it.
Where your profit comes from
Three sources, all configured from your console and all calculated by themselves. No manual collection, and no chasing anyone after the deal.
A commission on every deal
A percentage of the deal value or a flat amount, with a floor and a ceiling. You choose who pays it: the seller, the buyer, or both — each configured separately.
- Deducted automatically the moment the deal completes
- Shown to both sides before they commit, so no surprise spoils the trust
- Anyone whose balance falls short has it booked as due and it shows in their wallet for collection
Forfeited deposits
A winner who does not pay within their window forfeits a share of their deposit — a share you set — and the rest is returned to them in the same operation.
- Only available once the window has lapsed and after two reminders
- With an undo window, in case it landed on the wrong name
Balances working inside your wallet
Bidders top up their wallets with you before they bid, and the money stays in your platform’s cycle instead of leaving after every deal.
- Raises repeat purchases and shortens the sales cycle
- With a statement the customer reads themselves, so they never ask you about it
What could you earn?
Move the sliders to the numbers of the market you know.
An estimate before tax and costs. VAT applies to your commission alone and is remitted to the authority; it is not your revenue, and the platform separates it in its reports.
Three ways to sell, chosen by the plate’s owner
Every plate has its own market: the rare one goes to auction, the one with a known price sells in a tap, and the one nobody can price collects offers. All three live in one platform, under rules you set.
Bidding with a timer and automatic extension
From five minutes to thirty days. A bid in the final seconds extends the clock automatically, so no plate is snatched by a tap on the edge.
- A hidden reserve price — protects the seller from selling below what they want; visitors see “met” or “not met”, never the figure
- A deposit as the price of entry — a percentage with a floor and ceiling, or a flat amount, set by you rather than by each seller
- A payment window for the winner with two reminders before it lapses
- Re-awarding to the next bidder on default, with forfeiting the deposit offered inside the same step
- A competitive countdown that deepens in colour as the close approaches and pulses in the final minutes
A published price and a single tap
The buyer taps “Buy now”, the deal is recorded, the plate is held for them, and they land on a payment page with the full breakdown and their clock already running.
- Atomic purchase — a plate is never sold to two buyers in the same instant
- Commission shown before commitment — they know what they will pay before they tap
- Three ways to pay: card, bank transfer, or wallet balance
- Disabled methods are shown with the reason, not hidden
Closed offers for the seller to choose from
For an owner who does not know what their plate is worth and lets the market decide. Each bidder sees only their own offer; only the seller sees them all.
- A minimum offer keeps out the time-wasters
- Commission calculated on what is typed character by character, under the field
- One live acceptance — a second is not accepted while the first is still awaiting payment
- A window that lapses on its own so a vanished buyer cannot hold a seller forever
What the buyer sees: a market to browse, and a plate with a page of its own
A listing is one plate with one link, shareable and indexable — no rooms, no queues, no bundles. Every plate is its own page: it surfaces in Google and arrives in WhatsApp with its picture.
Search finds the plate whether it is typed “كطع” or “KTE”, “٤٠٤٠” or “4040”, with filters by letter count and digit count — because in this market those are price brackets, not descriptions.
| S••• Al-Q••••• | 148,000 | 04/09/2026 · 11:55 |
| M••• Al-S••• | 142,000 | 04/09/2026 · 11:41 |
| A••• Al-D•••• | 135,000 | 03/09/2026 · 22:08 |
A bid reaches everyone with the page open at the same instant, with no refresh and no wait. The clock announces “auction extended”, so no bidder thinks the timer has glitched.
One account: seller and buyer at once
Not two accounts for one person. Whoever sells a plate today buys with the proceeds tomorrow, from the same balance — and that alone multiplies activity in your market, because the money never leaves after each deal.
Needs your action
What needs action first, then the numbers. The page does not open on a dashboard its owner reads and does nothing with.
My plates
Add with a live preview that changes as you type, then publish, edit, cancel and relist. The letters are three dropdowns with their Latin equivalents, so a letter that is not on the traffic-authority table can never be entered.
My bids
Three groups ordered by urgency, not by amount: an auction with two minutes left does not sit below one with three days to run. Each carries its live countdown and where its owner stands in it.
Offers
Sent and received on one page. The seller can accept or decline; the bidder can withdraw an offer while it still stands.
My purchases and sales
Three groups, each with its own counter: awaiting your reply · in progress · completed. And every deal shows the arithmetic rather than the result: the value, then the deposit, then the commission and its tax, then the amount due — or the net the seller receives.
My wallet
Balance, held and available, plus a debit/credit statement where every entry carries the balance after it — the customer reads it line by line and never calls to ask where their money went.
My public showroom
A link in the seller’s name showing only their published plates, separate from the page that manages them so drafts stay private. They put it on their Snapchat or X profile and pull free visitors to you.
My invoices
A simplified tax invoice for every commission, with a QR code and a printable sheet.
Notifications
Thirteen kinds, delivered instantly: you were outbid, you won, an offer arrived, your payment cleared, your deadline is near. Every notification is a reason to come back to your platform.
The deal’s path: five stops both sides can see
In an escrowed deal the first question either side asks is not “where are we” but “where is my money”. So the line above the track answers it in a full sentence, and the marker points at the current stop.
| Deal value | 148,000 |
| Deposit held — credited against the value | − 7,400 |
| Platform commission on the buyer 2.5% | + 3,700 |
| VAT on the commission 15% | + 555 |
| Amount due | 144,855 |
The same page is built for the seller in the seller’s voice: “your proceeds arrived”, not “your payment arrived”. Commission is subtracted from whoever receives and added to whoever pays. Only the button belonging to whoever’s turn it is appears — so nobody presses one that is not theirs.
Money: a wallet, a deposit, escrow, and double entry
Every riyal that leaves a customer’s wallet enters an offsetting entry in your platform’s books. No one-sided deduction whose trace evaporates, and no balance that moves without a line explaining it — which is what lets you close your month with confidence.
| Date | Description | Debit | Credit | Balance |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 04/09 · 14:20 | Deal payment — L U J 2030 | 144,855 | 41,600 | |
| 04/09 · 11:41 | Deposit held — R S M 4040 | 3,100 | 186,455 | |
| 03/09 · 22:08 | Deposit returned to wallet — K K K 999 | 2,400 | 189,555 | |
| 02/09 · 09:14 | Top-up — card · P26-00019 | 150,000 | 187,155 |
Entries are never edited or deleted, and every deposit is named by its plate rather than a vague label — so its owner never reads identical lines wondering which deposit came back.
Two balances: available and held
A deposit is held once per auction and released to the losers — not when the hammer falls but after the winner’s money is collected. Release it earlier and re-awarding becomes impossible, because everyone else’s bids would have no money behind them.
Forfeiture by percentage, with an undo
Not “the whole deposit, always”: a percentage you set, with the rest returned to its owner, and zero switches it off. It carries an undo window because it is a human decision made in one tap that may land on the wrong name — and the undo is a reversing entry, not an erasure.
Escrow
Payment holds; it does not complete. The money stays locked with you until you verify the transfer of ownership and release it. Either side can raise a query, which freezes the release until you rule — release to the seller, or refund to the buyer.
Top-ups and payments
A payment gateway with test and production environments and a hosted payment page, so card data never touches your servers — or a bank transfer you confirm after reconciling it. Every operation carries its own entry, so a page refresh or a second confirmation never tops a balance up twice.
Payouts
Every transfer to a seller opens a payout order with its beneficiary, IBAN, amount and deductions. The IBAN is a snapshot taken when the order was issued, so money never lands in an account changed after the fact — and execution requires a transfer reference.
Tax invoicing
A simplified invoice for every commission with a QR code, a chain linking each invoice to the one before it, and a screen showing that chain’s integrity. No invoice is issued against a malformed tax number — refusing is safer than issuing an invalid one.
And you hold all of it from one console
Fifteen screens answering your three questions: how much is running right now, where is the money, and where are we heading — in a session separate from the user account, so you can keep both open in the same browser and move between them without signing out.
Held in trust right now
The most important number on the screen: what you hold and do not own.
Where are we heading? — revenue, last seven days
Ratios that describe health, not size: a platform whose listings grow while its deals do not looks like it is climbing in the counters while standing still.

You set the rules once, and protection is not left to the interface
A deposit is the price of entry, not a listing option: a seller who raises it drives bidders away, and one who zeroes it opens your market to time-wasters. So the rules sit with you, and the listing form shows them to the seller without letting a single field be edited.
| Required deposit | 5% — floor 1,000, ceiling 25,000 |
| Winner’s payment window | 48 hours |
| Automatic extension | a bid in the last 3 minutes extends by 3 minutes |
| Forfeiture rate | 50% — the rest returns to its owner |
| Undo window for forfeiture | 24 hours |
| Ownership-transfer window | 72 hours |
| Your window to review the proof | 48 hours |
Changing a setting does not touch what is already running: every listing carries the version in force when it was published, so an auction’s rules never shift under whoever entered it.
The reserve price never leaves the server
A visitor sees a state, not a figure. An automated check compares what is sent to the browser against an allow-list, so any new field that leaks it stops the release before it reaches production.
Offer amounts are never broadcast
An offer’s amount reaches nobody but the person who made it and the seller — not on the page and not over the realtime channel. The full record stays with you for audit.
No value from the browser is trusted
The amount due is computed on the server, the time comes from its clock, and identity from a signed session. Nobody bids below the minimum even if they tamper with the page.
The guards live on the server, not in the interface
A hidden button is not a guard. Forfeiture requires the window to have lapsed, a refund is refused while its owner’s bid still stands, and completion requires a confirmed payment — and every guard has a test that tries to get around it from outside the interface.
Your customers’ privacy
Bidder names are masked on the public ledger, and phone numbers appear on no public page. Passwords are hashed with a per-account salt.
A rate limit
Six operations per ten seconds per user on a single listing, and the same on sign-in and sign-up — so your auctions cannot be drowned in scripts, and a double tap never records the bid twice.
The plate is drawn the way it is manufactured, not the way it is sketched
In a market whose product is the plate, drawing it is not decoration — it is the product photo. Three types and three editions give five geometries: the long plate is one continuous face with an emblem at its centre, while the standard, sport and motorcycle plates give every letter and digit its own recessed cell, exactly as they are made. All of them are SVG vector SVG, crisp from the thumbnail on a card to full screen.
Long (the default) — 930×200, a continuous face with no dividers and an emblem at the centre
Standard — 460×230, a separate cell for every letter and digit
Sport — 760×200, a single Latin row, so the two Arabic fields are hidden from the form
The plate’s real typography
Layout is measured in ink, not font size: in Arial an Arabic digit stands about 0.52em tall against 0.72em for a Latin one, so without compensation the Arabic row reads visibly smaller. The size is normalised per cell, so no character shrinks because its neighbour is wider.
An engraved face and struck ink
An inner shadow sinks each cell into the metal and an emboss raises the character alone — instead of white tiles pasted onto black. One light passes across the whole face, not four identical glints.
Letters from the traffic-authority table
Seventeen approved letters with their Latin counterparts — and these are not transliterations: ص maps to X, م to Z and ى to V, exactly as the traffic table dictates. Three dropdowns rather than a text field, and a cell does not open until the one before it is filled.
Real emblems
The palm and swords in the national block, and the centre emblem on the long plate: Diriyah, Vision 2030 or Hegra — baked at their original fidelity rather than approximate paths that give themselves away the moment anyone compares them to the real thing.
Realtime that does not break at the first dropout
In the final seconds a bidder decides on what their screen shows them. A page two seconds behind means a lost plate and a complaint in your inbox — so the realtime layer is built to correct itself, not merely to work in perfect conditions.
Arrives without a refresh
A bid appears for everyone with the page open at the same instant, and the watcher count climbs in front of them — which is what drives bidding in the first place: people bid more when they see others bidding.
Corrects itself
Phone dropped out in a lift, or the tab closed? On return the full state is fetched again. No gap survives, and no stale figure is shown as the current one.
Ends on time
An auction closes at its appointed time even if nobody has a page open, windows lapse and their reminders go out — so no auction stays open merely because nobody visited it.
In your name, not ours
Not a logo of ours on any page. Name, colour, logo, icon, share image and content pages — you set all of them yourself from the console, with no developer and no waiting.
One colour is enough
You pick your colour and the whole scale is derived from it: buttons, badges, borders and states. You are not asked for three coordinated colours, forget the third, and leave a stray shade showing in a corner.
You write your own pages
“About” and “Terms” are free-form documents with sections you add and remove and a publish flag: write at your own pace, then publish. “How the market works” is a fixed template with text you edit.
Visible in search and to AI
One setting for search engines, another for answer engines, a third for generative models — so that your platform is the one named when somebody asks about the plate market, rather than a competitor’s site.
The share image arrives
When a seller sends their plate’s link on WhatsApp, a card appears with your name, your logo and your image. Change the logo and it takes effect at once, with no stale copy stuck in the platforms’ caches.
| Platform name | Plate Exchange |

A full scale derived from one colour, from which the whole interface is built.
A number you can read out on a phone call
When a customer calls to complain, they are not going to read you a twenty-character identifier. Everything in your platform has a readable number: a type letter, a two-digit year, then a five-digit sequence — restarting each year and never reused.
Search matches exactly rather than partially, and accepts Arabic-Indic digits, any letter case, and the number with or without its dash — so whoever types it as they heard it finds what they are looking for.
From agreement to your first auction — four steps
No development project stretching over months and eating your budget before the first riyal. The platform is built and tested; what remains is fitting it to you.
Your identity
Your name, colour, logo, content pages and domain.
Your rules
Your commission, deposit rate, windows, extension and forfeiture rate.
Your payments
Connecting the payment gateway to your merchant account, or starting with bank transfer alone.
Opening
We list your first plates and open registration — and the first auction starts the same day.
Questions everyone considering a launch asks
Do I need a technical team to run it?
No. Everything you change after launch — commission, deposits, windows, pages, logo, FAQ — is set from the console. Hosting and updates are on us.
Does the money pass through my own account?
Yes. You connect the gateway to your merchant account, and collecting from buyers and paying sellers both happen under your name. The platform records, reconciles and invoices; it never holds your money.
What if the buyer defaults after winning the plate?
Because they bid against a deposit already held, you have two options in one tap: forfeit the share you set, and re-award to the next bidder with a full payment window. The seller loses neither their plate nor their time.
And if a dispute breaks out between a seller and a buyer?
The money stays held with you until you verify the transfer of ownership. Either side can raise a query, which freezes the release until you rule — release to the seller or refund to the buyer — and both are written to the log under the name of whoever decided.
Is my customer data mine?
Yes, and the database can sit on your own server if you want. Their accounts, wallets and records are yours alone, and exportable whenever you like.
Does it work on mobile?
It was designed mobile-first, because most bidding happens there. A fixed bid bar within thumb reach, wide row cards that show three plates on screen rather than one, and admin tables that turn into cards you read with no horizontal scrolling.
Can I start without a payment gateway?
Yes. Enable bank transfer alone with your accounts and IBAN: the buyer transfers, attaches their reference, and you confirm it after reconciling. Cards can be added later with no downtime.
Does it suit anything other than plates?
The architecture suits any unique item sold one at a time: premium mobile numbers, watches, collectibles. What changes is how the item is drawn and which fields it carries.
Screens from inside the system
Platform screens as you and your customers will see them — on desktop and on mobile.
The plate sits above the form and changes with every character typed
No eleven-column table burying the actions column past the edge — a wide card, with the buttons where they are needed.

Tax is kept apart from your revenue because it is not earnings — a page that adds the two together shows your profit larger than it is, and pricing and decisions get built on that number.
And on mobile
Most bidding happens on a phone, and in the final seconds a bidder cannot afford to scroll looking for the button.
